A mobile ice cream trailer with two seasons.

The coach works metro Detroit through the Michigan summer and the Tampa area over the winter, which is a strange way to run an ice cream business and a very sensible way to run one. It means the wheels are almost never parked.

Michigan is the home half. The coach has worked Goudy Park in Wayne, Young Patriot's Park in Riverview, the Trenton farmers market, MI Taco Fest in Sterling Heights, a car show in Ann Arbor and Canterbury Village in Lake Orion. The summer runs on that festival calendar, with graduation parties, weddings and block parties fitted around it. Florida is the flexible half: weddings, community nights and open dates to fill between the winter festivals.

What comes out of the window is premium Hershey's, hand dipped to order: eleven flavors with the candy and cookie already folded in, cones and waffle cones with sprinkles on top, floats and Italian ice. Nothing is pre-scooped and nothing sits in a tray waiting for you.

Every directory that lists the coach says the trailer was built for Walt Disney World before it was an ice cream counter, and that Howdy Doodles inherited it and kept the shape. It is the first thing anybody asks about at an event.
