Festivals, fairs & markets

An ice cream vendor for festivals, fairs and markets.

The coach is its own booth, generator and attraction. It arrives on the wheels people photograph before they order, sets up in a single pitch, runs its hours and tows out — no tent build, no power drop, no kitchen left to clean. Organisers get a dessert vendor that fills the gap most food lineups leave open.

What an organiser gets from a dessert food truck

  • One pitch, roughly the footprint of a car and trailer, with its own power and no water hook-up.
  • A dessert slot that does not compete with the savoury vendors already booked.
  • Two service windows, so a festival crowd moves instead of standing.
  • Certificates of insurance, health paperwork and the vendor application handled before the date.
  • A recurring slot where the event repeats — markets and concert series included.

For the people who book vendors

For organisers: what a vendor application from the coach includes

If you run a festival, a fair, a farmers market or a concert series and you are filling the food lineup, this is what you get when the coach applies — so the dessert slot is decided in one email rather than five.

  • Footprint: one standard vendor pitch — the trailer once dropped, plus room for the tow vehicle if it stays on site.
  • Power: its own generator on board. No hook-up, no cable run, no draw on your event's supply.
  • Water: none needed. Everything is served in cones, cups and bottles.
  • Paperwork: certificate of insurance naming your organisation, the mobile food licence for the state, and your vendor application, returned before the deadline.
  • Throughput: two service windows and a hand-dipping counter, so a festival crowd moves instead of standing.
  • The draw: a covered stagecoach with red spoked wheels. It photographs, it gets posted, and it pulls people across a field to look at it.
  • The slot: dessert only. It does not compete with your savoury vendors, and it is the gap most lineups leave open.
  • Repeat dates: a season-long slot on a market or concert series is one booking, not a weekly renegotiation.

Where it happens

The festival circuit the ice cream truck works, season by season.

Michigan · the summer season

The Michigan circuit, May to September

This is the half of the year the coach's own event record is built on, and the summer is planned around it: farmers markets, concert series, city festivals and village events across metro Detroit. It takes a very good reason for the coach to skip a festival weekend.

  • The Trenton farmers market — ten minutes from the driveway the coach lives in
  • The Goudy Park summer concert series in Wayne, into late August
  • MI Taco Fest in Sterling Heights
  • Canterbury Village in Lake Orion, and car shows west to Ann Arbor

Florida · the winter season

The Pasco and Tampa circuit, October to April

The winter festival season sits inside a twenty-mile ring of Wesley Chapel, and nearly every event publishes a food-vendor application — so a dessert slot is one email away. Between festival weekends the winter calendar has room for the weddings, school nights and community dates the summer does not.

  • The Kumquat Festival in Dade City — 30,000 to 40,000 people, late January
  • The Rattlesnake Festival in San Antonio, eight miles out
  • The Pasco County Fair in Dade City, late February
  • Zephyrhills' snowbird-season events and Tampa's monthly night markets

Send the date, the town and roughly how many guests. Every event is quoted for the day — the occasion, the guest count, how long the window is open and the tow set the number, not a menu board.

Questions

Festivals & markets — the usual questions

Does the coach need power or water at the site?
No. It carries its own generator and serves nothing that needs running water, so the pitch is the only thing the event supplies.
How much space does the ice cream truck take?
A single trailer-sized vendor pitch once it is dropped, plus the tow vehicle if it stays. It has parked in standard vendor spaces at markets and city festivals.
Can you send a certificate of insurance and your licence?
Yes — both come with the application, with your organisation named as additionally insured where the paperwork asks for it.
Do you take a whole season on a market or concert series?
Yes. A standing slot is the preferred booking: the Trenton farmers market and the Goudy Park concert series in Wayne are both on the coach's own record as recurring dates.
Can I book the ice cream truck for a festival or market?
Yes. The coach is its own booth, generator and attraction.
Where does the coach cover?
The Michigan circuit and The Pasco and Tampa circuit. Both seasons are quoted the same way, with the travel included in the number.
What does the coach need on site?
One pitch, roughly the footprint of a car and trailer, with its own power and no water hook-up. A dessert slot that does not compete with the savoury vendors already booked.
What does it cost to book an ice cream truck for a festival or market?
Every booking is quoted for the day rather than off a list — the guest count, how long the window stays open and the travel set the number. A recurring slot where the event repeats — markets and concert series included.
