The winter season · October – April

Ice cream truck catering in Tampa Bay.

Howdy Doodles is an ice cream truck built like a covered stagecoach, with a real hand-dipping counter inside. From October through April it works out of Wesley Chapel, and the winter is the season with room in it: weddings at the barn venues, spirit nights and field days at the schools, ice cream socials on the office lawn, food truck nights at the lagoon communities, and tournament weekends three miles from the base. Eleven Hershey's flavors on the painted board, floats, and six dairy-free Italian ices, dipped while your guests watch.

Weddings

Wedding planners and couples at the barn-and-oak venues ringing Wesley Chapel — Cypress Creek, The Barn at Jewel Farms, the Dade City ranches, Saddlebrook — choosing dessert after the venue is set.

A late-night ice cream truck at the reception: the coach opens when the dancing starts and dips to order through the last song. The line is the photo.

  • Barn, ranch or outdoor venue
  • 100–200 guests
  • A planner runs the day
  • A certificate of insurance asked for up front
  • Something guests will queue for and photograph

Festivals & fairs

Festival committees, market managers and chambers filling a food lineup inside twenty miles of the base — Kumquat, Rattlesnake, the Pasco County Fair, the Tampa night markets.

One festival day on one vendor application. The coach is its own booth, generator and queue — it needs a pitch and somewhere to park, not a tent build.

  • A published food-vendor application
  • Food trucks in last year's lineup
  • A daytime family crowd
  • Outdoors, with vendor parking
  • The same weekend every year

Community & lagoon nights

Lifestyle directors and HOA boards across Pasco's master-planned communities — Epperson, Mirada, Union Park, Country Walk, Seven Oaks, Wiregrass Ranch — running food truck nights, pool parties and holiday events as standing amenities.

A standing monthly food truck night, booked once for the season. One yes from one lifestyle director is a winter of dates.

  • A lifestyle director on staff
  • A published resident-events calendar
  • A lagoon or amenity centre
  • A food-truck night that already runs
  • New phases still selling

Tournament & resort weekends

Tournament directors and facility managers at the Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus, AdventHealth Center Ice and Saddlebrook — plus youth league coordinators planning the end-of-season party.

A vendor slot on a tournament Saturday, or the dessert on a resort group's catering order. The queue is already standing in the car park.

  • A weekend-long bracket or group booking
  • Families with hours between games
  • Outside vendors allowed on site
  • It repeats on the facility's calendar
  • One facility contact books the date

Fall arrival · October – November

  • Mid-October

Rattlesnake Festival · San Antonio, FL

East Pasco's signature small festival, eight miles from the winter base, and the first festival window of the Florida season.

  • October, weekends

    School fall festivals & trunk-or-treats · Wesley Chapel · Land O' Lakes · Lutz

Florida's outdoor school season starts as Michigan's ends. Same PTA booking, opposite calendar.

  • October – November

Shoulder-season weddings · The Pasco barn belt

Perfect weather and couples who booked the venue last winter are choosing dessert now.

  • October – November

Holiday calendars get set · Community amenity centres

Lifestyle directors fill December in October. A December slot is asked for the week the coach arrives, not in December.

Deep winter · December – February

  • December

Community holiday parties · Epperson · Union Park · Country Walk · Mirada

Santa-at-the-lagoon season, and Florida is the one state where a hand-dipped counter works outdoors in it.

  • January – March

Snowbird season peak · Zephyrhills RV resorts

The town roughly doubles by mid-January by its resorts' own count, and activity directors fill a daily calendar nine miles from the base.

  • Late January

Kumquat Festival · Downtown Dade City

30,000–40,000 people in a historic downtown twelve miles out — the biggest dessert-friendly crowd of the Florida season.

  • Early to mid-February

    Florida State Fair · Tampa

Twelve days at the fairgrounds down I-75. Volume, real fees and a contracted midway — an application worth making to learn the door.

  • Late February

Pasco County Fair · Dade City fairgrounds

The home county's own fair week: a county-fair crowd and a shorter tow than the state fair.

  • December & February

Peak wedding months · Tampa Bay

Tampa planners call these the two most in-demand months of the season — the dates that go first.

Spring finish · March – April

  • Early March

Florida Strawberry Festival · Plant City

Eleven days and one of the biggest events in the state, twenty miles east.

  • Late March – April

Egg hunts & spring community events · Amenity centres across Pasco

The spring calendar, booked by the same lifestyle directors who set December.

  • March – April

Spring weddings · The Pasco barn belt

The season's last full months before the heat returns. April books like October.

  • May

The coach goes north · Back to metro Detroit

Michigan season opens. A Florida date in May is worth asking about early — the tow is the constraint, not the calendar.

Send the date, the town and roughly how many guests. Every event is quoted for the day — the occasion, the guest count, how long the window is open and the tow set the number, not a menu board.

Questions

Booking the coach in Florida

Does the ice cream coach cater events in Florida?
Yes — October – April, worked out of Wesley Chapel. The regular run covers Pasco County around the base, and south through New Tampa to Tampa, and dates further out are quoted with the travel included.
When is the coach in Florida?
Florida runs October – April. The rest of the year the coach works Michigan out of Southgate, May – September, so a date near the changeover is worth asking about early.
How much does it cost to book the coach?
Every event is quoted for the day rather than off a price list: the occasion, the guest count, how long the serving window stays open and the tow all set the number. Send your date through the booking form and a quote comes back.
What does the coach serve?
Premium Hershey's ice cream, hand dipped to order: eleven flavors with the candy and cookie already folded in, cake and sugar cones, waffle cones with sprinkles, floats, and six dairy-free Italian ice flavors. Nothing is pre-scooped.
How far ahead should I book?
Saturdays and holiday weekends go first, and the busiest dates of the Florida season are usually claimed months out. The coach takes one event at a time, so an early date is the surest way to hold it.
